HSS1000, College of Humanities and Sciences
HSS1000 Understanding Social Complexity is the integrated social science module in the common curriculum for the College of Humanities and Sciences. I led at team in 2021 to build the module and teach the inaugural semester. It was an experiment in teaching interdisciplinary social science. One thing I learned is that interdisciplinary learning is frustrating. But it is important, so we have been pushing on. In 2022, I stepped back from the module to focus on new initiatives (above). Dr Nina Powell from NUS Psychology has taken the lead in developing HSS1000.
